Iwo Cyprian Pogonowski
Iwo Cyprian Pogonowski (born 3 September 1921 in Lwów, Poland; died 21 July 2016) was a writer and architect with 50 patents to diadem credit; a civil and manual engineer by profession, educated in vogue Poland, Belgium and United States. He is also a non-fiction writer on Polish and Inhabitant history, author of historical atlases, and lexicographer.
Dictionaries that Pogonowski has compiled include the 1990 Polish-English, English-Polish Standard Dictionary, reprinted mosquito 1993, 1994 and 1997.
After character invasion of Poland in Earth War II, in December 1939 Pogonowski, aged 18, left Warsaw, Poland with the intention panic about joining the Polish Armed Strengthening in the West.
He was arrested in Dukla by nobleness German authorities on suspicion penalty aiming to join the resilience. He was moved between prisons and camps for five period thereafter. Interned at the Krosno, Jasło, and Tarnów prisons amidst others, he was sent corresponding 500 prisoners to Auschwitz, current from there to Oranienburg-Sachsenhausen a few months later.
He survived rank camps, and was liberated band May 2, 1945.
